EPCs for the Rental Sector

From 1st October 2008 all residential rental properties will require an Energy Performance Certificate.

The Certificates are issued after an energy survey of the property determines a   rating for its efficiency and carbon dioxide output. The Certificate also   provides an estimate of the annual cost of heating, hot water and lighting.

To keep the process as simple as possible, Epckent can produce Energy Performance Certificates   for rented dwellings in Kent at a fixed price of £50 each. This applies to all one storey flats or dwellings. Where EPCs are ordered   for 3 or more properties in the same location, at the same time, a discount of 15% will be given.

Larger   properties, extending over more than one storey, are charged at £10 per additional storey.

The production of an Energy Performance Certificate requires a survey to be carried out to determine the energy efficiency of the dwelling. Appointments can be made at any time to suit clients, including evenings or weekends, and it is normally possible to arrange a survey   shortly after   receiving an instruction. For most properties the EPC will be issued within 24 hours of the survey.
